As the eldest son born pre- World War 2, the author provides a firsthand account of his family’s life in a small Midwestern town before, during and after WW 2. His vivid recollections of family events and circumstances during his father’s naval service are supported by many family photos and documents.
This is a story of one sailor among the millions of men who left their families to defend their country from the threat of domination by the Axis Powers and their return home to the challenges of readjusting to a normal family life after enduring the traumatic experiences of wartime service.
